The trig point is situated next a broken wall that runs almost the whole length of Rise Hill. The view is dominated by higher fells; Great Coum and Whernside to the south and Baugh Fell to the north. Although neither Dentdale or Garsdale can be seen from the trig point a short walk to the south or north brings the valleys into view.
