Situated to the south of the Stang road between Arkengarthdale and Teesdale it is a fairly rough and pathless walk to the trig point. The easiest approach is via the shooting track that passes within a third of a mile to the south-east of the trig point.
The view is predominantly of moors with Hoove to the north and Great Pinseat and Rogan’s Seat to the west the most prominent. To the south the view includes Fremington Edge and Calver Hill though with extensive moorland all around there is little depth to the panorama.
