The Holme Knott trig point is situated on one of a number of knolls at the northern end of Middleton Fell. It was built in 1950 as part of the third order of trig points.

The trig point requires a bit of a detour from the track to the south heading for Middleton Fell from Fellside. The views to the south are dominated by the bulk of Middleton Fell. To the north there is a fine prospect of Sedbergh backed by the Howgill Fells.
