The Ouster Bank trig point is situated just south of the highest point of the Masham to Lofthouse road. It was built in 1953 as part of the secondary order of trig points.

The trig point is situated between the top of the Pot Moor High Road and the track across Shooting Box Allotment. The view is of moorland in all directions including to the north-east the upper reaches of Great Whernside, Little Whernside and Dead Man’s Hill.
