The Rain Stang Hill trig point is situated on a subsidary top of Woodale Moss in upper Nidderdale. It was built in 1953 as part of the third order of trig points.

The trig point can be accessed from the south via a gate on In Moor Lane. Alternatively, it can be approached from Woodale Moss to the north by a stile in the wall to the south-east of the summit. The view is dominated by the moorland tops surrounding upper Nidderdale including Great Whernside, Little Whernside, Dead Man’s Hill and Great Haw.
