Brockholes Force is an attractive but rarely visited waterfall located in Brockholes Gill on the eastern flank of High Seat above Little Sled Dale.
There are far more impressive waterfalls in the Yorkshire Dales but for connoisseurs of obscure waterfalls Brockholes Force is well worth seeking out. I visited it on my way down into Little Sled Dale from the summit of High Seat. For someone just interested in the waterfall it would definitely be easier to climb up from Little Sled Dale. Be warned though, judging by the amount of dead bracken I saw I imagine it would be really awkward to get to the waterfall in the height of summer.
Brockholes Force is located midway down Brockholes Gill below a cliff and scattered boulders. It is a lovely little spot with the waterfall formed of two drops. About twenty metres further up the stream, above a noticeable landslip, there are another two smaller waterfalls that are also attractive.
