Eden Falls

Eden Falls

Eden Falls is a small waterfall on the River Eden as it gets squeezed between rocks whilst passing below Birkett Common.

The waterfall is in two parts, both of modest height. The upper part is fairly wide as the river drops over some small rock shelves. Just below is the second part where the river narrows to just a couple of feet. The waterfall is not named on the map so Eden Falls is my own self explanatory name for it.

The waterfall is easy to reach from the track running around the base of Birkett Common from Croop House towards the road above Pendragon Castle. The waterfall is a lovely spot and on my visit I enjoyed the spectacle of three grey wagtails racing each other up and down over the top of the falls.
