Janet's Foss is an attractive plunge waterfall situated near the village of Malham at the point where Gordale Beck drops down into Wedber Wood. It is an early highlight of the classic Malham round that also features Gordale Scar, Malham Tarn and Malham Cove.
The waterfall is usually approached from the south on a lovely path through Wedber Wood. The waterfall is at the top of the woods with a short rocky climb required to reach the road on Gordale Lane.

The waterfall takes is named after a legendary fairy queen who supposedly inhabited a cave behind the waterfall. While I've never seen Janet herself there is no doubting that it is a magical place.
