Walk Report

This is a walk we have done many times before and is perfect for a short family outing at Christmas time. Whilst there is parking at Studley Lake we prefer to go for the free parking at the Fountains Abbey visitor centre. The walk itself doesn’t need much of a description as it has already appeared on this site a few times. You can view the previous walk report here.

There were two differences this time. Firstly, we decided to do the seven bridges first and then walk back up the long driveway through Studley Park. The second change is that this time we were accompanied by our cavapoo, Barry. It was his first visit to Studley and as with every extended walk we’ve taken him on he really enjoyed himself. Barry’s presence however did mean that I couldn’t go off to try and get some pictures of the deer herds that live on the park.

The little valley where the Skell is crossed by the seven bridges really is delightful and is definitely worth the visit for anyone who hasn’t done it before.
